jointly offer a Ph.D. program in business policy, marketing, economy, Finance, Information Systems, Human Resources & Behavioral Sciences and Operations.

The policy in relation to the doctoral program in management offered by a consortium of business schools, introduced from the academic year 2006-2007 are described in the following sections.

Eligibility

A. Qualifications:

The students can be drawn from those with qualifications from all the streams listed:

• Master degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines like humanities, social sciences and commerce, from a recognized university or a university / institution by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) recognized.

• Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration, MBA by AIU as equivalent.

B. Minimum Marks Required:

55% marks or equivalent CGPA at PG level

C. Work Experience:

A t least two years full time relevant work experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity after obtaining Master’s Degree.

Selection Process

All candidates are required to be passed by a three-step selection process:

1st Applicants must submit their applications for the program in the prescribed form, together with a two-page “Statement of Purpose.” Statement of purpose should briefly describe the area of research interest.

2nd All candidates are required to appear for a written aptitude test research.

3rd Candidates shortlisted after the written test are invited to make a presentation to a team of experts in their “Statement of Purpose to ‘basis. The presentation will be followed by a discussion.

Structure of the Ph.D. program

Level I: Course Work

1st MBA candidate with no qualifications to undertake the work must of course first year MBA at NMIMS, Mumbai, TAPMI, Manipal or maxim, Bangalore in the classes spread over a year, during the first year of the Ph. D. program.

2nd Those will be granted exemption from the first year if they are declared successful in the waiver to test with MBA qualification. This exemption granted to classes for the second year course work to participate. For the second year of course work, all classes in the five weeks to the following schedule:

3rd In the second year, the candidates will receive instruction / interaction in the classroom have five compulsory subjects as follows:

a) Management Thought, Theories and Research (Philosophical Foundations of Management)

b) Economic Theories & Research,

c) Strategic Management Research,

d) Human & Organizational Behaviour Theories & Research,

e) Design Research & Methodology,

• Quantitative Research

• Qualitative Research

4th In addition to the above, the applicant will have to study their specialized topics in the areas of strategic management, marketing, business / finance, systems, human resources, operations, and Entrepreneurship. This is a reading paper, which is up to 100 ground-breaking work in the area of specialization will be reviewed.

5th In addition to above, (3) and (4), the candidate is required to write two research and teach a course at one of the participating institutions.

6th Consistent good quality have to keep in the course of work, exams and seminars will be united for proceeding to the proposal stage. Stage II: Proposal and candidature

1st ll candidates must submit their proposals within the research 3-6 months after completion of level I.

2nd Candidate, he has offered a seminar on the proposal before a group of experts (up to 5 nominated experts, including the proposed Ph.D. Guide) for approval.

3rd it is licensing a qualifying match for the dissertation first stage.

Stage III: Dissertation

1st The candidate is required to formally register with a Ph. D. guide at this stage if he / she has not already done so. The guide will be by mutual agreement between the candidate and the relevant faculty will be selected.

2nd The faculty member selected as leaders, must be currently mentioned on the list of NMIMS leaders who are approved by the Ph. D. committee.

3rd All candidates must present a review of the progress report every three months.

4th Candidates are invited to submit their work to be completed within 2-4 years after registration.

5th Applicants who do not submit the their dissertation within the prescribed period shall be required to register again, according to the standard re-certification process.

Stage IV: Submissions and Evaluation

1st All candidates must submit the summary of their dissertation at least six weeks prior to the filing of the final work.

2nd The thesis to be submitted are reviewed by a panel of three members.

3rd The panel of examiners will be selected by the Ph. D. committee.

4th Separate reports from all three examiners must be submitted to the University within three months.

Level V: Viva

1st The candidates must defend their thesis by a viva within a reasonable time after receipt of all the positive reports. The Viva will be held by a committee of not more than five members, nominated, including the Chairman (Research & Publications), guide, at least two external examiners and a member of the VC or assets of VC.

2nd Final Examination is required for its report within two weeks after mailing to viva.

The Ph. D. Committee

The Ph. D. committee is a standing committee responsible for formulating rules for all in the selection of candidates Ph. D., Ph. D. program and administration of the award of the Ph. D. degree be. The committee consists of:
